- No External Reflector Required — Reflective Mode: Unlike transmissive (slot-type) photointerruptors that require a mechanical flag or shutter, the EE-SY199 detects objects by reflecting its 950 nm IR beam off the target surface. This eliminates moving parts, alignment complexity, and dedicated mechanical flags — the target object itself acts as the reflector. Any surface with reasonable IR reflectivity (paper, plastic, metal, skin) can trigger detection.
- 20 µs Response with 35 V / 20 mA Output Drive: The phototransistor output switches in 20 µs — fast enough for high-speed object counting, rotary encoder emulation, and real-time presence detection on production lines. The 35 V/20 mA collector ratings allow direct interface with 24 V industrial logic, optocoupler LEDs, or MCU GPIO without intermediate buffering in most applications.
